How to make aluminium window frames look better
Removing oxidisation and other items from aluminium window frames can be brought with disaster. The colour coating on aluminium joinery is very thin and easily removed back to bare metal. However, there are easy, simple ways to make your window frames look better and stay that way for years to come.
Clean & Protect
7 Years Of UV Protection
Deep oxidisation cleaning and UV rated protection for aluminium joinery.
Remove Oxidisation & Protect
Deep Cleaning
Our cleaning products remove oxidisation with minimal impact on the existing coating. It is prudent to remember that a thin layer of oxidisation contains some of the original colour coatings, which is removed. However, when done correctly, you will expose a fresh layer of colour that can be significantly enhanced and protected for years to come.
Restoring Depth & Gloss
Looking Amazing!
The restore and protect coating is easy to apply and requires little effort in maintaining a smooth even finish. We recommend using a product like frog-tape or similar masking tape for running around the inside edge of the window frame. This prevents excess product form forming on the glass. However, any small amount of excess will not be easily seen as the product goes on clear and self levels to an even clear state.
It is important to apply the coating in a smooth even motion – too thin and the frame will look dry, too wet and the product will not self level correctly, possibly leaving bubbles.
The correct conditions for application.
- Surface cleaned of oxidisation, water spots and dry to the touch
- Surface cool to the touch (not in direct sunlight)
- No chance of rain/ water on the surface for 12 hours
- Work around the house staying the shade as much as possible

Step One
Clean Surface
Using the supplied scuffing pad and cleaning solution. Place a cloth to protect any house paint or concrete from stains. Wet the window frame with the cleaning solution, scuff the wet surface with a medium to light pressure. Repeat this a couple of times, and you will see the oxidisation lifting. When you see the oxidation lifting, wipe it away and rinse the cloth in the bucket of clean water.

Step Two
Mask & IPA
Use the supplied IPA cleaning solution to clean the glass and window frames. Ensuring full removal of any coloured residues from both surfaces. This prevents the sealant from sealing coloured stains on the glass. While also ensuring the coating will bond correctly to the aluminium window frame. Using a product like frog-tape or other quality masking tape mask the inside edge of the windows frames on the glass.

Step Three
Product Application
Apply a liberal amount of the product to the supplied applicator pad. Starting in one corner of the window frame, using a medium to light firmness on the surface allow the applicator to glide over the window frame while applying an even layer of the coating. The product will self-level; however, you give a couple of light passes over the surface to remove excess. The surface should look wet, but not dripping wet.
